Sustainability and environmental protection are not just buzzwords, they are a way of life. Earth Day is a reminder that each of us need to take action to protect our planet. In honor of the day, we’d like to highlight the importance of environmental protection and the ways UES is committed to creating a more sustainable future as shepherds of the environment. A major portion of that commitment comes from our team’s dedication to providing sustainable solutions that help protect our environment through the environmental services UES offers.
Some of the ways we contribute to sustainability efforts if by providing services such as environmental site assessments, remedial design and corrective actions, specialty environmental services, wetland services, threatened and endangered species services, and asbestos and lead-based paint services. We understand the importance of sustainable construction practices that reduce energy consumption, minimize waste, and promote the use of renewable resources. Our team of engineers and staff are well-versed in green building practices, and help our clients comply with environmental regulations, mitigate environmental risks, and minimize anthropogenic impacts on the environment. UES has also formed a committee to develop standard operating procedure guidelines and marketing to assist entities that may be impacted or need additional guidance when it comes to PFAS. Learn more about this effort here.
In addition to the environmental services we provide, we also encourage our employees to adopt sustainable practices at the office, in the field, and in their daily lives. UES’ FAST (corporate) office in Orlando, Florida recently renewed its Edenark Group ISO 14001 Environmental Sustainability Certification. The certification incorporates energy, waste, water, employee health and performance enhancement, community involvement, procurement and suppliers, compliance and regulations, emergency, security, and stakeholder engagement.
